Tier 1 Computer-Based – English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, Gen Awareness
Tier 2 Descriptive Paper in Hindi/English – Pen and Paper Mode (Letter/Application Writing, Essay Writing)
fTier 3 Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test – Wherever Applicable (Speed Typing Test)
Latest SSC CHSL Syllabus 2020: Tier I
1 – The Exam Will be Online Objective Multiple Choice.
2 – There will be 4 sections in exam
3 – Question Paper Will Consist 100 Questions.
4 – Each question carries 02 Marks So paper will be of total 200 marks.
5 – Time duration of exam will be given 01 Hours.
6 – There will be 1/2 Negative Marking.
7 – Candidate who qualified written exam will be called for Tier 2 Exam.

The table below gives a brief description of the SSC CHSL Syllabus for Tier II:

Skill Test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators.
|Data Entry Operator||In this test, a candidate should have data entry speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour.||Duration of the Test is 15 minutes and English document having about 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions is given to type.|

Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG)
|The ‘speed of 15000 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.||The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the test computer.|
Skill Test will be of qualifying nature.
Candidates eligible for scribe will be given compensatory time of 5 minutes. Therefore, the duration of the Skill Test for such candidates will be 20 minutes.
Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-III Examination on the basis of their performance in Tier-I + Tier-II subject to having scored a minimum of 33% marks in the Tier-II Examination.
Typing Test for LDC/ JSA and Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant:
